In case you were wondering...
Why is there a video of a butterfly, and what does it have to do with data science?
The honest answer: it doesn’t — but it has everything to do with me.
The butterfly you see above is a Monarch. I was born and raised in Michoacán, Mexico — the very place where these incredible creatures find refuge each year. They travel thousands of miles, from as far as Canada, to reach their sanctuary. As a little girl, I visited that sanctuary and stood in awe, surrounded by their quiet beauty.
To me, Monarchs are a reminder that even the most delicate beings can make extraordinary journeys. They are a small but meaningful part of who I am — and a symbol of resilience I carry with me, in life and in my work.
